What is UI /UX?
UX (User Experience) and UI (User Interface) design are crucial aspects of developing digital products that are not only attractive but also user-friendly and enjoyable. UX design emphasises the complete experience a user encounters when interacting with a product, including its intuitiveness, efficiency, and overall satisfaction. This process includes research, user testing, wireframes, and gaining insights into user behaviour. Conversely, UI design focuses on the aesthetic and interactive elements—such as buttons, typography, colours, and layout—that guide users through a product. Together, UX and UI collaborate to ensure that a product is both effective and visually appealing, fulfilling user needs while also aligning with business objectives.
What tools do I need?
Luckily there is a free browser based design tool called Figma which allows you to create interfaces, wireframes, prototypes and graphic designs. This will allow you to design websites, apps and other digital products. These designs can then be handed off to developers to work with.
